Real Housewives of New York Gossip: Real Housewives of New York Bethenny Frankel’s Mother

I’ve been watching Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York spin-off, Bethenny Getting Married?, starring Bethenny Frankel and it has become very apparent that Bethenny had to make the healthy choice as an adult to distance herself from her mother for her own sanity.

On a recent episode of Bethenny Getting Married?, Bethenny had a breakdown while discussing who was to attend her wedding and fiance Jason Hoppy (now Bethenny Frankel’s husband) suggested Bethenny call her mother, but Bethenny Frankel replied “she’s a crazy woman”.

So I wondered: What does Bethenny Frankel mean when she says her mother is a crazy woman?

In a recent interview, Bethenny Frankel explains how her mother, Bernadette Parisella, suffered from severe mood swings, alcoholism and Bulimia.

“I never had a true childhood. There was a lot of destruction, alcohol, abuse, eating disorders and violent fights,” says Bethenny Frankel.

Also on the show, Bethenny Getting Married?, Bethenny talked about her father leaving her mother when she was only 4-years-old and her mother would remarry and tell Bethenny she did it for her.

“We would be eating off of paper plates one day and having six Mercedes in the drive-way the next. It was very unstable,” says Bethenny.
