Tyra Banks Gets Sued After Teen Appears Without Parental Consent on Teen Sex Addict Episode of the Tyra Show
Beverly McClendon of Georgia, mother of 15-year-old Jewel Ciera Washington, is suing Tyra Banks for 3 million dollars, claiming the Tyra Show did not have her permission for her minor child to appear on a 2009 episode about teen sex addicts. According to reports, 15-year-old Jewel Ciera Washington answered an open casting call for teen sex addicts on the show’s website, TyraShow.com, and was later contacted via her personal cell phone. A month later Tyra Show producers flew Jewel, a minor, to New York City unaccompanied and provided her with car service to and from the airport and hotel accommodations.
Beverly McClendon is deeply concerned about her daughters safety and wants to stop the airing and distribution of the alleged illegal episode. “This show undoubtedly was watched by sexual deviants, perverts and pedophiles alike,” says McClendon.
Warner Bros. Entertainment and Tyra Show producers have also been named in the suit.
