Looks like Daniel Day-Lewis may be up for another Oscar soon. The two-time Academy Award winner just signed on to play the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln, in a movie called Lincoln. Not only does Lewis get to play the role, he even has similar facial features as the deceased 16th President and author of the Gettysburg Address. Lincoln, which is directed by the talented Stephen Spielberg, is a biographical film of the president’s life based on the book, Lincoln, by Doris Kearns Goodwin. Stephen Spielberg released a statement saying, “Daniel Day-Lewis would have always been counted as one of the greatest of actors, were he from the silent era, the golden age of film or even sometime in cinema’s distant future. I am grateful and inspired that our paths will finally cross.”
The filming of Lincoln is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2011.
