Looks like hip-hop singer Cee-Lo and his hit F*ck You landed him a spot as a performer at the 2011 Grammys. The question now is- Will Cee Lo sing the original or the family friendly, clean version of this hit song…? Will Parents have to cover the ears of babes? Word is, Cee-Lo does want to perform the original version of the song at this year’s Grammy Awards. In a recent interview, Cee Lo said “Of course, I prefer the original. I’m an adult, and I prefer adult entertainment”.
However, although Cee-Lo would love to do F*ck You as is, Cee Lo understands the FCC decency regulations will prevent him from doing so, which ultimately means he will have to perform the clean, family friendly version of the song.
And Cee Lo agrees-
“Everyone will be watching the Grammys, so I’ll do the one that’s appropriate for everyone, which is probably the cleaner one. It’s just a privilege to perform either of the versions. They’re all alternatives and they’re all equally great,” Cee-Lo explains.
Speaking of clean versions- What did Cee Lo think of Gwyneth Paltrow’s rendition of his song? Answer: “I was pleasantly surprised. She did a great job,” says Cee Lo.
