Junebug and Enchanted star Amy Adams is taking on the role of Lois Lane in the return of the Superman film, Superman: Man of Steel, coming in December. After what seemed to be a never ending search, Warner Bros finally found someone who was perfect to play Lois Lane alongside the new Superman of the 21st century, Henry Cavill.
Director Zack Synder talked to the Los Angeles Times about finally finding the perfect actress to play Lois, “There was a big, giant search for Lois. We did a lot of auditioning but we had this meeting with Amy Adams and, after that, I just felt she [Amy Adams] was perfect for it,” says Zack.
Zack Synder also added it was important that the characters were perfect for the franchise to work. “What’s important to us is making him relevant and real and making him empathetic to today’s audience so that we understand the decisions he makes. That applies to Lois as well. She has to be in the same universe as him.”
Superman: Man of Steel will hit theaters December 2012.
