As Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2, Hits Theaters on July 15th, Daniel Radcliffe Admits to Becoming “Reliant on Alcohol to Enjoy Stuff”
After landing the role in the “Harry Potter” series at only 11-years-old to star as the lead character, Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe has amassed a fortune of around $72 million.
In a recent interview with GQ magazine, the 21-year-old “Harry Potter” star reveals that his life started to go downhill when he turned 18 and was filming “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince”, the sixth installment of the series. Like many celebrities, young and old, Daniel began to drink too much alcohol and party a bit too hard, saying “he became so reliant on alcohol to enjoy stuff”.
“I became so reliant on alcohol to enjoy stuff. There were a few years there when I was just so enamored with the idea of living some sort of famous person’s lifestyle that really isn’t suited to me,” Daniel Radcliffe tells GQ.
Worried about his alcohol addiction, and realizing he did have a serious problem, Daniel Radcliffe says he gave up drinking last August and hasn’t touched alcohol since, explaining how he would love to be a party hound, but he just gets carried away with it and becomes irresponsible.
“As much as I would love to be a person that goes to parties and has a couple of drinks and has a nice time, that doesn’t work for me. I do that very unsuccessfully,” says Daniel Radcliffe.
Daniel Radcliffe now says he would much rather be a homebody than go out and risk getting caught by the paparazzi in his worst drunken behavior.
I hope he keeps up with the sober lifestyle!
The final Harry Potter movie, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” will be in theaters everywhere on July 15th.
