Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries on the red carpet of the Kardashian Kollection Launch Party on August 17, 2011–3 days before the wedding!
With the buzz about the August 20th wedding, guest lists, invitations, the ceremony, and the ring; Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries’ wedding broke the entertainment news Richter scale! So was this the wedding of the decade?
The Vera Wang creation was a lovely spin on an original number. It had a full tulle skirt and was a very simple, elegant choice for the occasion. Paired with a jeweled headpiece, Kim Kardashian epitomized elegance. Her hair in loose waves, simple makeup, and white bouquet was in perfect harmony.
The rest of the ceremony followed this pattern as well with simple black and white decor, a live performer, and decadent menu. Kim K’s ‘Old Hollywood’ trend played out in her wedding and added to the elegance and class of the wedding. Robin Thicke performed for the reception guests and was the first to introduce Mr. and Mrs. Humphries, later Earth Wind and Fire performed, and then a DJ took over. The food by Wolfgang Puck consisted of heirloom salad with buffalo mozzarella, basil, and tomatoes, roast chicken with potatoes, and hand-formed pasta.
Throughout the ceremony Kim Kardashian wore three Vera Wang gowns; the first was a full tulle skirted gown, the next, a mermaid skirted dress, and finally a crepe-back, V-neck satin dress.
After rave reviews from guests and enjoyment by all, this wedding is said to be the wedding of the decade. You can catch the 4-hour, two night special on E! on October 9th at 8/7c and October 10th at 9/8c.
