Entering the chic venue, a yoga studio-turned fashion’s night out, I was hit with a trendy mix of hip-hop and R&B, dim lighting, and vintage hardwood floors. The runway was outlined on the floor, and black chairs were placed strategically around it–As I later found out during the show.
The Chunkei Monkei line was featured on the walls of the venue, in picture frames, creating the perfect decor for the event. The founder of Chunkei Monkei LLC., Justarrea Curry, invited several friends, family, and media outlets to attend the show, which made the atmosphere a very comfortable, casual one.
After a word from Justarrea, talking about the line and the upcoming show, tribal music started to play. Models walked out wearing high fashion jewelry pieces and bodices made by Justarrea. The Chunkei Monkei jewelry presented during the show gave vibes of tribal and a tropical influence. The line expressed a chic elegance in an unconventional way. The fashion-forward but primitive designs proved to impress as they gained applause from the audience. The Chunkei Monkei show ended with a final walk of the four models wearing intricate wooden jewelry, which was another exciting highlight.
This well-orchestrated, chic event carried out to a reception and designer meet-and-greet after the show, complimented by food, beverages and a DJ.
To celebrate the official Chunkei Monkei jewelry launch, we are proudly hosting a giveaway for a handcrafted limited edition “First Class Fashionista” necklace designed by Justarrea Curry– Exclusively for and inspired by First Class Fashionista’s readers!
