Co-Owners Kirk Mcclung and Robert Collins Talk to “First Class Fashionista” About the Inspiration for Uneek Collection
Last Wednesday, on the eve of 303 Magazine’s second annual Denver Fashion Weekend, First Class Fashionista joined Uneek Collection Co-Owners Kirk Mcclung and Robert Collins for a retro fashion show on girl’s night out.
The “Unify Nationalities by Encouraging Education & Knowledge” inspired clothing company (formerly known as Uneek Denver) set up an 80s runway capsule at Oak Tavern located downtown Denver in the Lodo district, an upscale dining and nightclub scene. That evening guests were invited to experience a modern day take on the signature looks of a decade which hosted the first rap, hip-hop and pop videos…Think big off-the-shoulder sweatshirts, hot pink tights and the scrunchie–Think Madonna and the big boom box that kids carried everywhere.
The Unique Collection retro fashion show also paid tribute to Michael Jackson’s impact on fashion
–Our hearts go out to the family, friends and fans of Michael Jackson during the trial of Dr. Conrad Murray.
Sponsors for the Uneek Collection fashion show included Buckley Omega and HPNOTIQ. Ladies took home a HPNOTIQ lip gloss and everyone sampled the new Hypnotic Harmonie for the socialite. Back in July, Hypnotic celebrated the launch of Hypnotic Harmonie at a party in New York City, NY hosted by Khloe Kardashian.
Below is our interview with Uneek Collection Co-Owners Kirk Mcclung and Robert Collins. The runway video didn’t meet our expectations. We apologize. Pictures coming soon.
