I know you’re probably like: “What does this have to do with fitness or health?” It has a lot to do with it because what I am referring to is: WATER! There are so many people out there who don’t drink enough water. Sorry one bottle isn’t enough. Everyone has a thirst mechanism, and when you’re thirsty it’s your body’s way of saying: “HEY YOU!! I NEED WATER!!!”
For example, if your body is working to keep itself cool; thirst is your body’s way of saying that it lost a lot of water.
Recommended intake of water on a daily basis is 64oz. of water. In other words 8-8oz glasses of water. Me, personally I drink 1-2 gallons per day. When working out, you should be drinking 4-8 oz of water every 10-15 minutes because you lose a lot of water when you sweat. If you don’t like water or you just think it’s boring, here are a few tips to help you drink more water:
- Purchase the Crystal Light packets
- Try Fresh squeezed lemon or lime juice
- Try ginger
- Steep green tea bags in hot water and let it cool off before you pour it into a water bottle. Green tea is known to have fat burning properties along with antioxidant benefits. Unsweetened green tea is BEST!
- Drinking COLD water actually forces your body to burn calories because your body has to warm up the water just to maintain your normal body temperature of 98.6.
Drinking a lot of water can help with weight loss, clear up your skin, and your sweat won’t stink either. So my advice to you is: DRINK UP!! Because drinking water can actually help you get healthier in the long run.
