The one that got away.
After last months speculation into Katy Perry and Russell Brands marriage, the two are officially calling it quits. Russell released a statement saying, “sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage.” He continued, “I’ll always adore her and know we’ll remain friends.”
The divorce may come as a surprise to some familiar with Katy’s religious background and beliefs. The 27-year-old musician was raised in her parent’s ministry, where she began her early days of singing.
Rumors are circulating that the reason behind Russell Brand filing the divorce papers was not to upset Katy’s parents. In the meantime Katy Perry has been taking comfort with gal-pal Rihanna.
A source told the NYPost that although Katy appeared all smiles while flying solo on NYE, “the singer is reportedly having a tough time.” Katy Perry and Russell Brand were together just over a year, having been married in October of 2010.
What a pity, such a beautiful couple.
They were really cute together but it was obvious after they were spotted apart from each other for considerable amount of time. Though I think they shouldn’t have splitted!
Divorce is always sad. I thought that they looked amazing together. Hopefully they both recover and move on without throwing mud at each other.
