Known to attract its fair share of outrageous and haute couture dresses, this year’s ball was no exception!
The Metropolitan Museum of Art rolled out the red carpet for Hollywood’s biggest names. Ball attendees were treated to quite possibly one of the most fashionable celebrations to honor Prada and Elsa Shiaparelli, who joined together to created the new exhibition.
The most talked about attendees are Vogue editor Anna Wintour, Carey Mulligan, who graced the cover of WWD in a scale sequin party dress, and Beyonce who bared quite a bit in a sheer couture gown by Givenchy.
Beyond the outrageous fashions, some of the more demure and glamorous “Met Costume Gala” arrivals can be over looked. Actress Camilla Belle channeled old Hollywood regency in a Ralph Lauren embellished gown. The champagne colored dress blended into her tan skin, creating a look that appeared to have her dripping in sequins. She wore her hair parted and pulled back, with a dark purple lip.
Jessica Alba stunned in a one-shoulder Michael Kors gown. The frock featured a Grecian ascetic that created a overlapping effect on the sequined fabric while the empire waist showed off Alba’s petite frame.
Emma Stone smiled brightly as she posed for pictures in her red embellished Lavin part dress. The quirky aspects of the dress were the perfect fit for Stone’s cheerful personality. The actress wore her hair up and adorned with a barrette.
Gwyneth Palthrow showed off her toned physique in a cutaway Prada minidress. An eyes were on the actress who’s beautiful lilac dress was both contemporary and fashionable. My award for best dressed definitely goes to Palthrow, the entire look was perfectly styled!
