World Trade Day 2012 Gala: A World of Fashion

In honor of World Trade Day 2012, last Wednesday, the World Trade Center Denver hosted “World Trade Day 2012 Gala: A World of Fashion”. Showcasing the work of seven designers from around the globe, the evening celebrated international fashion and business. The event was held at Infinity Park Event Center, a facility which boasts leading edge sound, lighting and 360 degree screens! Infinity Park was absolutely the perfect venue for a high fashion show, offering nothing less than a great sensory experience.

The WTC Denver rolled out the red carpet. Attendees arrived in style by limo or party bus to walk the red carpet in “international fashion”, and get their picture taken by Denver’s very own paparazzi. The night’s festivities also included a silent auction and additional entertainment by Violinist Mandi Malone and internationally renowned Belly Dancer Kaya. During the show, guests enjoyed a four course dinner by Three Tomatoes Catering.

•Nordic designer Gerdur Kristjansdottir owner of icelandic Design, representing Iceland.

•Colorado Fashion Week Founder and Justice K designer Justice Kwesi Kwarteng, representing Ghana.

•Marie-Margot Couture designer Maggie Burns, representing Denver and the U.S.

•PINEDA COVALIN designers Paola Alvarez and Salvador Ayala, representing Mexico.

•YUMI KATSURA designer Yumi Katsura, representing Japan.

“The goal of the event was to bring internationally-minded businesses together to strengthen the Rocky Mountain Region’s international business community, and laying the foundation for future international exchange,” explains Michael Ebedes, Partner, PwC, Chairman, World Trade Center Denver.

To foster this vision, the WTC Denver chose the Young American’s Center for Financial Education’s International Towne as the beneficiary of the event. The International Towne program teaches student’s the essentials of international trade and cross-cultural success.
