As designers roll out their Resort 2013 collections, new trends begin to solidify their way into the season. Well known accessory and handbag designer Rebecca Minkoff took from her native San Diego roots to inspire a no-frills, vibrant take on west-coast cool. The line focuses on strong graphic prints paired with more geometric elements. Neon piping outlines a pair of rolled cargo’s while a graphic T-shirt and embellished cut-off vest complete the look. First Class Fashionista thinks this line is very true to the designers inspiration, the influence is ever apparent in the styling and nature of the clothing.
For Designer Derek Lam, his line 10 Crosby Derek, combines the punk 80’s attitude of Pretty in Pink and meets the vibe of Venice Beach. Lam played heavily with over-sized plaid blouses and textured graphic trousers. Model Sara Blomqvist captured the effortless feel of the combination while giving them that cool-California vibe. The designer incorporated his signature pajama-style pants and gave them new life in graphic floral print, which he paired with a matching tunic.
