BCBG Max Azria at New York Fashion Week S/S 2013 Presentation

As co-owner and designer of BCBG Max Azria, Lubov Azria, puts it, “I don’t think you need to show a lot of skin to be sexy.” The sex appeal was apparent throughout the designer’s Spring 2013 collection. BCBG Max Azria departed from their usual bodycon dressing and went for a more flowy silhouette. The intricate inlay of lace and silk cotton showed superb craftsmanship and design.

The designer’s personal contribution was in the form of the leather harness, which were seen in almost every piece to walk down the runway. The leather harness acted as a reinforced bodice for many of the loose-fitting gowns, giving their garments an added edge.

Max Azria credited the overall design inspiration to black and white movies and stills by photographer Helmut Newton. We loved the simple but chic color palette of white, black, light blue denim and dusty pink, which really tied the collection together as a whole. Check out a few of our favorite looks below.
