J.Crew S/S 2013 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Presentation

J.Crew Ready to Wear 2013 Presentation

No single muse inspires J.Crew designer Jenna Lyons. The 2013 spring presentation was filled with a multitude of inspiration from tom-boy chic to rich botanical print.

We can always look forward to hints of color and serious print mixing from J.Crew and the presentation for next season was no exception. Rich cobalt blue, kelly green, and pale pink gave bold definition to the classic silhouettes and accessories. Mermaidesque sequin pencil skirts were paired with collared blouses for a sleek Spring look. Neoprene shirt dresses and ladylike heels were accessorized with baseball caps and wide rimmed glasses.

Lyons noted that several of the printed floral pieces were directly inspired by old Time Life images. The detailed botanicals were seen on luxurious wide legged pants and top buttoned shirts. Another look we couldn’t help but love were the metallic brocade prints. This print has already proven to be trending this Fall, and is a clear transition piece for the Spring.
