This Is How Eddie Bauer Does Denim: Introducing the Exclusive Perfect Fit Denim with StayShape Technology
We all know Eddie Bauer. Some may shop the store just for seasonal wear and everyday fashion, but most associate Eddie Bauer with the outdoors. Personally, I had never been in the Eddie Bauer store without my Mom. It’s safe to say that prior to my personal denim fitting a few days ago, I never thought the EB style would be for me.
Founded back in 1920, Mr. Eddie Bauer created the clothing line based on pieces of outerwear and sportswear he couldn’t find to fit his personal needs. He started out designing these pieces himself, taking great pride in listening to the feedback and opinions of his customers. Fast forward to 2011, the Eddie Bauer company had been paying close attention to the needs and wants of loyal shoppers. The company’s directors and store managers across the country realized that their denim department needed a little revamping.
At their flagship store in Lone Tree, CO, Molly, Brand and PR Manager, explained to First Class Fashionista the process Eddie Bauer went through to develop the exclusive Perfect Fit jean with StayShape technology. She told us how the designers at Eddie Bauer decided to revamp the entire denim line, according to specific customer feedback. Eddie Bauer held personal trunk shows around the U.S. and invited women of all body types to come try prototypes of the Perfect Fit denim. 12 body types were chosen and then it was narrowed down to 3 fits, which make up the 3 FITs you can find in stores today.
Partnering with American fabric company, Cone, Eddie Bauer designers landed on 3 fits made with the StayShape technology. These jeans are designed to fit perfectly and keep their shape all day long. The three FITs include the new Truly Straight for the woman with a straighter waist, flatter seat, smaller thigh, and an overall rectangular body shape. The new Curvy fit tailors to a woman with a smaller waist, fuller hip, and a bigger thigh—she has an overall hourglass figure. Lastly, the Slightly Curvy design specifically targets women who have an evenly proportioned waist, an evenly proportioned thigh, and an overall modified hourglass figure (an amazingly 54% of women fit in the Slightly Curvy design!)
Using valued customer feedback, Eddie Bauer marketing directors, designers, and store managers put their heads together to create the perfect fitting denim that comes with a guarantee!
