Style Post: Business Wear Tips

So what do you wear when things get serious? Whether it’s a formal presentation or an internship, there are many contemporary options to help you avoid the dull business look. This past week, I shadowed a few lawyers in court and there was a need for me to look professional. I wore a black pair of trousers, a collared short-sleeve blouse, and a blazer on top. I wanted to add some color, so I chose a peach top with a black string tie. This top was the “stand out piece” in my ensemble. The trousers and blazer were simply the essential items.

Although, in the photo, I am wearing boots; I suggest flats or pumps. Not only are these shoes more professional, but the right pair will sustain your feet throughout the day.

Here is a list of the 5 essentials for a more professional setting:

1. Blazer

2. Trousers

3. Pencil Skirt

4. Flats

5. Pumps
