You’ll be green with envy for Pantone’s 2013 color of the year! Much more than a gem, emerald was a stand out color in many of the Spring 2013 fashion shows. Designers such as Elie Saab, Tracy Reese and Zac Posen showcased pieces in the jewel tone hue. Some of our favorite looks included a bold lace trench by Burberry Prorsum.
Pantone’s selection for 2012 was the beloved tangerine which seemed to be the shade of everything from the blouses on our backs to the lacquer on our nails. Personally, I’m surprised about this year’s color selection. If I were to guess, my money would’ve been on a soft shade of blush. Regardless of my personal hypothesis, I love that Pantone went with a color that is on the darker side of the spectrum. I’m curious to see how designers and fast fashion retailers will manufacture the shade for summer and resort wear seasons.
