As you all know, Sunday was President Barack Obama’s official second inaugural day, and the address was delivered on Monday. Many important people attended and, of course, all were dressed to impress. The theme of the ceremony was “Faith in America’s Future”, and although there can be a couple different variations of what that could mean, at least we can rest assured that there is faith in America’s future in fashion. There were countless stunning ensembles, and here are my favorites.
Michelle Obama, who always looks amazing, chose a daring yet sophisticated ruby red custom Jason Wu gown to prove what a fashionable First Lady she can be. Michelle has been a fan of Jason Wu for a while. He was also responsible for creating her 2009 inaugural gown, and since then she has been seen in more of his designs.
During the address, the First Lady also wowed and kept warm in a chic navy Thom Browne coat and dress, and added a pop of color to the ensemble with plum colored leather gloves by J Crew.
The president’s daughters, Sasha and Malia Obama, clearly inherited a good sense of fashion from their mom. The girls stood out in brightly colored coats, Malia’s being a J.Crew magenta overcoat, and Sasha’s a lavender coat and dress by Kate Spade.
The A-list couple, and close friends of the President and First Lady, Beyonce and Jay-Z attended the ceremony looking absolutely flawless, as usual. Jay wore a suit by Tom Ford, while B wore a stunning Pucci dress for her performance of The National Anthem.
