Coachella Style Guide for Spring and Summer

Coachella Style Guide 2014

It’s almost that time again! Time for people to flock to the annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Weekend one will take place April 11-13, with weekend two following on April 18-20.

It’s a place of great music, fun gatherings, camping, and the infamous yearly resurgence of a love for boho fashion. Located in sunny Indio, California, it’s visited by casual music fans and a-list celebs alike. If you’re going to the event- insert envious puppy eyes here- you can use the following as your outfit guide and checklist. If you’ll be sitting at home streaming a playlist you made yourself of the headliners- AKA, myself- these outfits will still be great Spring and Summer styles.

As you may know, the staggering amounts of amazing artists to be found here are no scoffing matter. Music titans like Arcade Fire, Muse, and OutKast will be playing along with new sensations like Lorde and Capital Cities. Not to mention the few that are a bit hard to label like Chromeo, Girl Talk, and the ever-evolving Beck. Because I’m already intensely jealous just looking at the lineup, I’m going to start running down the outfit listings.

The Classic Boho Chic

This look, in one variation or another, is basically the iconic piece of the festival. So if you’re just looking to cruise in and catch some sun and some songs, this could be the look for you!

The Survivalist

If you are one of those festival-goers that refuses to go home or be done before you’re fully ready… Godspeed- you may need these things. Bonuses! The bag is up to regulation and policy-acceptable size, and the vest is packable. The vest is made of down but will fit into a tiny pouch until you need it. And come nightfall, that intense heat the bikini seemed too much for will be just a memory. The bandana can be used as an adorable hairband, or doubled as a face mask for those of us not used to festival air quality.
