Oh, has time flown by yet again. Seriously, where did 2014 go? It has already come and gone and to say the least, what has been done has been done. Did you live out this year’s New Year’s Resolutions? Or did you resolute something different along the way? Sometimes, it’s okay to not follow through with your original new year’s resolutions. Sometimes, it’s more important that you simply learn from your experiences and allow room for discovery.
Instead of focusing on what you didn’t accomplish this year, take your mind on a journey and relive your experiences; the good, the bad and the ugly. This will help you gain a deeper understanding of who you have become, what you have learned and how you are going to better yourself going forward. In the end or in the beginning, all that truly matters is that you are the best you that you can be.
Just like anybody else, my year was filled with the ups and the downs. I had many magical moments and I had tragedy, all of which I have chosen to see as opportunity and essentially inspirational. Tragedies are going to happen and unwanted or unplanned events are going to take place, it all comes down to how you choose to handle the situation and what your new plan is for going forward. Earlier this year my life threw me a curve ball and took an unexpected direction that indefinitely changed my life. This great sadness that took place may have changed my life forever (or at least for now), but in reality, it changed my life for the better.
Let me tell you a little awe-inspiring moment that will maybe inspire you or hopefully someone out there. After this event took place, I am not even exaggerating in the slightest bit, in less than 60 seconds, okay maybe more like an hour or two tops, my mind had completely turned this terrible incident into a very positive scenario. This specific moment in time was a divine self-realization that allowed me to witness firsthand that I really do “choose happy”. In just a few minutes of time, my mind could literally not see anything other than the positive and it was a beautiful thing. Moments after the tragedy took place, the powerful positive energy within me was already solely focused on the good and I was well on my way to figuring out what was going to happen next. When I realized how quickly I had taken this horrendous and life-changing event and turned it into a beneficial situation, I was so proud of who I had become.
I live and breath positivity. It is without a doubt that I certainly promote happiness and spread kindness as often as I can, but I can’t emphasize enough the powerful impacts your thoughts and your mind truly have on your world. If you can change your thoughts, you can change your world. It’s hard to do at first and I am sure it probably used to be a lot harder for me to do too, but if you just believe, you will receive. Constantly and consistently put positive energy out into the world, because trust me, positivity will not only absorb you, it will become you. No matter the circumstances you encounter, focus your energy on the greater good. Learn how to handle the unexpected events that come your way, learn how to control your thoughts, and genuinely try to see the light in darkness when it arises.
Eventually, you will become this free spirited soul who won’t even understand how others could possibly get to the ridiculous conclusions they get to. If you practice these simple mind control habits, you will be able to easily solve your issues right as they come and you will be able to move onward and never look back.
It will be a life worth living, I can guarantee you that.
Happiness is a choice. We rather choose to let certain things eat at our soul or we choose to see things in a different light. Either way, it all comes down to choices. If you can look on the positive side of every single tiny situation that comes your way, you will be unstoppable. Don’t forget, this is your life, you are in control of your thoughts and you choose your destiny. I am destined for greatness, are you?
Some ending notes, just for fun!
What was your favorite memory of 2014?
Did you experience anything for the first time? Was it something incredible?
I did! I went to my very first music festival known as “Electric Forest” in Rothbury, MI. Honestly, words don’t even describe the magical forest that I became apart of. If you don’t know about Electric Forest, seriously, Google search it right now. You will be blown away!
Anything you didn’t get to mark off your to-do list yet?
For me, sadly, I didn’t make it to Yoga on the Rocks. Huge Boohoo! I had tickets and everything, but at the last minute, I believe my bed was calling my name more… oppps! Definitely a goal of mine for next year!
Remind yourself the end of this year is only the closing of one door and another one is about to open! As the Winter Solstice just took place and we move into new transitional phases, make sure you know you are worthy of self-respect. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have a clear set plan for 2015, uncertainty is okay. We are not creatures without flaw, we are human. With the year ending, make sure you don’t let your failures or personal struggles define you, that is not fair to yourself and that will not help you progress. Allow time for yourself to rejuvenate and revitalize. Fill your world with peace and serenity and you will be on a sure path to the higher grounds of happiness.
Live the life of a fashionista. Live the life you envision for yourself. Let your imagination run wild. Be careless. Be spontaneous. Be free. Be considerate. Spread kindness. And lastly, pay it forward.
