Are you planning to marry soon? After a year of planning the wedding of her dreams, my daughter was married Saturday, May 9th, at the opera house located in Denver’s theater district downtown. It was a beautiful weekend wedding that started with the rehearsal and dinner on Friday evening and concluded Sunday, which was Mother’s Day. The newlyweds hosted a wonderful Mother’s Day brunch to honor all the moms in the family. Three days later, they left for their honeymoon to travel 2 weeks in Europe…Well, everything went as planned. My advice to you, the newly engaged, is a year goes by fast, so get going on the planning.
Just about a month before the wedding, Best Buy launched its Wedding Registry – A perfect place to start since this may be the easiest thing you’ll have to. I told the bride-to-be about it when it was released and she was happy to hear the news. I know when you think Best Buy, you probably only picture the wonderful, amazing world of electronics that is Best Buy. But, “Best Buy has appliances too,” she had said to me. The news was a little late for her, though. The bride-to-be actually opted not to have a wedding registry but instead a “Honeyfund” account to spend on the extras during her honeymoon.
However, we did get some fun things from Best Buy for the wedding. For the reception festivities, there was an Instax Instant Camera photo opp area with some really crazy cool props, and guests were also able to use ReTrak self-sticks to take group shots with their phone cameras. The camera, the film and selfie-sticks are all available for registry at Best Buy, so you can create your very own reception photo booth! Skip the rentals. Great idea, right?
Happy wedding planning!
